Anticancer compound. Apoptosis inducer. Induces DNA fragmentation at the G1/S phase of the cell cycle. HIV-1 replication inhibitor. Anti-inflammatory. Vasodilatation inducer. Increases BMP-2 expression (mRNA) and enhance bone formation. Modulator of SMAD1/5/8, p38, ERK pathways. Exerts anti-hypertrophic effects. Caspase-1 activity inhibitor in vivo and in vitro. Antibacterial and antilisteria compound. L-Type calcium channel blocker. Source:Opopanax chironium L.Formula:C16H14O4Solubility:Soluble in DMSO or dimethyl formamide. Slightly soluble in methanol or H2O. Insoluble in ethanol.Molecular Weight:~270.3Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
