Diacylglycerol (DAG) is an important cellular source of arachidonic acid (Item No. 90010) which may be released by the action of DAG lipase. RHC-80267 is a selective inhibitor of DAG lipase (IC50 = 4 µM in canine platelets) that demonstrates relatively weak inhibition of phospholipases A2 and C.{27089} By elevating the concentration of diacylglycerol, RHC-80267 is thought to initiate activation of protein kinase C.{27090} At 0.3-1 µM, it has been reported to enhance acetylcholine-induced smooth muscle relaxation in vitro.{27090}
