Phosphorylethanolamine is used in the synthesis of Sphingomyelin, a type of sphingolipid found in animal cell membrane.Atmosphere:Inert gasMelting Point:>230°CSolubility:Water (slightly)Method for Determining Identity:Proton NMR (D2O), P-31 NMR (D2O) and MSTLC Conditions: C18; Acetonitrile : Water: Methanol (2 : 2 :1). Visualized with ninhydrin. (single spot; Rf =0.3).Storage and Stability:Store at 4°C under inert atmosphere. Caution: Hygroscopic. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
